The 2019 Triumph Speed Twin gets its name from the legendary 1938 Speed Twin, which had a parallel twin engine. Expectations are that Speed Twin will be priced somewhere around Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).The new 2019 Speed Twin is powered by an updated version of the Bonneville 1200 cc engine. The motor makes 79 bhp and 105 Nm of torque in Triumph Bonneville T120, while it will produce 96 bhp and 112 Nm of torque in Triumph Speed Twin. This engine does duty on Triumph Thruxton R as well and delivers 96 bhp and 112 Nm of torque. New 2019 Triumph Speed Twin will get a 14.5-litre fuel tank.Triumph Speed Twin gets a new tubular steel frame with aluminium cradle and a twin-sided aluminium swingarm. The suspension duties are performed by 41 mm front forks with cartridge damping and 120 mm travel at the front. There are twin shocks at the rear with adjustable preload and up to 120 mm travel. One gets twin Brembo 4-piston axial calipers with twin 305 mm floating discs on the front and Nissin 2-piston floating caliper and single 220 mm disc on the rear. The motorcycle will come with dual-channel ABS and switchable traction control.Triumph Speed Twin will come with three riding modes — Sport, Road and Rain. There will be an LCD multi-functional instrument pack with an analogue speedometer, analogue tachometer, gear position indicator, fuel gauge, range to empty indication and service indicator, among others.A low seat height of 807 mm will provide the rider better riding position on Triumph Speed Twin. It will get features like aluminium front and rear mudguards, throttle body covers, side panel finishers and heel guards.
