(Photo by Steven Branscombe/Getty Images)Nebraska football landed a major graduate transfer commitment on Saturday night when former Cal wide receiver Kanawai Noa announced he’ll be finishing his career with the Cornhuskers.Noa, a native of Honolulu, was a standout for Cal the last two years. He hauled in 96 passes for 1,267 yards and six touchdowns in three-plus seasons for the Bears.Noa earned a redshirt in 2016 when he was limited to three games by injuries. His best output came in 2017, when he grabbed 56 passes for 788 yards and four touchdowns.Injuries cost Noa nearly two months of the 2018 season, but he returned to make a pair of catches for 43 yards in a loss to TCU in the Cheez-It Bowl. Nebraska finished 4-8 in its first year under head coach Scott Frost. However, the program has high expectations for 2019.The Huskers will open up their 2019 season at home against South Alabama on August 31.Kickoff time is TBD.last_img read more
