first_imgNAFCU this week is celebrating its 50th anniversary with credit unions during its Annual Conference and Solutions Expo in Honolulu. The association will also be monitoring hearings reviewing lawsuit abuse related to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and patents, and a mark-up of flood insurance legislation.NAFCU’s Annual Conference kicks off on Tuesday and runs through Friday. NAFCU has repeatedly shared with Congress and the Federal Communications Commission how the interpretation of the TCPA makes it more difficult for credit unions to contact members about potentially fraudulent activity, identity theft and data breaches.Also on Tuesday, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet will examine a recent Supreme Court decision that now limits patent holders’ ability to concentrate their infringement lawsuits in plaintiff-friendly jurisdictions.
