But the bar was forced to close its doors recently because of a lack of trade. The landlord, who leased the premises, was so incensed at the failure of the business that he decided to get it off his chest. So he contacted the Tirconail Tribune newspaper and paid for an advert of a very different kind!Instead of thanking his customers for their business, he thanked them for NOT coming through the doors. The advert read “Big Paddy’s Bar has closed its doors. I would like to take this time and personally thank the people of Rathmullan for supporting me in this venture over the last 18 months NOT!! Thanks.”The landlord could not be contacted for comment.Locals have been left bemused by the advert and the sudden closure of the bar.One said “I was in it a couple of times but I don’t go out a lot these days and I don’t think most people do. I’m sorry his business has failed but I don’t think he can slag off an entire village because they choose not to drink in his bar.” DISGRUNTLED LANDLORD THANKS CUSTOMERS FOR ‘NOT’ DRINKING IN HIS PUB! was last modified: April 4th, 2015 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:advertBig Paddy’s BarcloseddonegalRathmullanlast_img
