first_imgTuscaloosa, AL (WVUA)- Even though class started for Oakdale Elementary a few weeks ago, the school along with superintendent Mike Daria helped introduce a newly renovated school Thursday morning.The project cost over 8 million dollars and took over a year to complete, but though costly, the students are enjoying the changes.5th grader Audry Peagler said, “This is the greatest day” and talked about how much she loved all the “fascinating” new books the school has to offer.Superintendent Mika Daria told an eager congregation,“as we cut this ribbon today for Oakdale Elementary School, it is in direct connection to the vision of this school system, which is to be the absolute best.”As well as how his ultimate goal it to give students the resources to succeed and be prepared for college and career opportunities.last_img
